You learned to ride on a full size, one speed bike—and could not sit on the seat for 2-3 years. Mine was blue and white and I could barely reach the handle bars. Getting going always required a little jump to get up on the pedals!
If you’re out for a walk in the evening and the street lights come on, you automatically head home. Such a classic from our childhood—along with Kick the Can, playing “Army”, marbles, trading comics…..
When classic rock is playing in a store, you find yourself “hustling” down the aisle. Beatles, Stones, Heart, Steve Miller, —I have been known to embarrass my children and grandchildren by dancing in the aisles!
You remember smoking on an airplane, in a store, at a restaurant and even in the hospital. Unbelievably true, and the new hit sitcom “This is Us” gave away the time period at the end of the first episode with someone lighting up outside a baby nursery. Love this show because of the retro flashbacks.
You remember television with only three channels (and cigarette ads!). Also in black and white with rabbit ears—usually ours had tinfoil stuck to them to help the reception.
Christmas meant Andy Williams specials. Enough said—making me misty eyed….
You know what Yardley Slicker is. Along with short hair, Twiggy eyes, bright colors, and….
You have ever owned a pair of Go-Go boots or a mini-skirt. Or moving past that time, bell bottom jeans, peasant shirts, poor boy sweaters and jean skirts.
You remember seeing the Beatles on Ed Sullivan the first time they appeared there. As well as Elvis Presley, the Stones, the Yardbirds, etc.
Beach Boy music transports you to another time……such an innocent time in retrospect. I can smell the baby oil!
Come on, Boomers–what are your favorite memories?

Looks Awesome Mom!
Thanks, Tony!
